 System Overview
The DIALOG 3G-DS AMR system is a Drive-by or Walk-by AMR system. The Drive-by
Laptop based system uses a Panasonic Toughbook rugged laptop PC with a receiver,
antenna, and reading software for collecting readings unattended from a
vehicle. The software has GIS mapping capabilities that indicate the route
status at a glance, as well as the current location of the reader on a moving
map.
The handheld Jet-CE system does the same as the laptop with the exception of
mapping, but also has the capability of being taken from the vehicle cradle for
legacy manual and touchpad based meter reading.
DIALOG 3G-DS meters have the transmitter built right into the glass register,
so they are as easy to install as a standard meter. Interrogator registers are
available for wirelessly retrofitting meters made by Badger, Sensus, Neptune,
AMCO, and Hersey. 3G meters also have the capability to log 4000 meter readings
for usage profiling, and alert readers of tampers and reverse flow. 3G-DS meters
can transmit through a metal pit lid, virtually eliminating the need for
replacement pit lids and damage from lawn mowers and snow blades.
